Today's, as we are well aware of, is a globalized society-overwhelmingly dominated by the all pervasive Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Since INFORMATION constitutes the key dynamics of the all-powerful play of ICT, every fabric of our society is unavoidably and increasingly getting surged with it. Now-a-days access to INFORMATION is no longer valued as a privilege but also as a civic right of every member of the society.
Of many information-driven tools of communications, WEBSITE has excelled others by dint of its inherent strength of sourcing the most relevant, useful and updated information to be accessed to, by anyone from anywhere across the globe. In the context of Bangladesh- a country yet to go a long way towards narrowing down the digital divide with the developed countries, any efforts, whatsoever, intended for materialization of e-governance can largely contribute to bridge the divide's well.
I feel warmly heartened to note that the Posts and Telecommunications (PTD) is eventually going to launch a website of its own. I do hope that the website will emerge to truly represent the digital entity of PTD together with all of its attached departments. In the way of disseminating the useful information and updates of the ranges of services available, the website, as my conviction goes, would work as a builder of linkages between PDT and its stakeholders as well as the valued end clientele, to their mutual benefits.
